DAVAO CITY – Brigadier General Michele Anayron is set to assume on Tuesday as the new commander of the Philippine Army 4th Infantry Division based in Camp Edilberto Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City.
Anayron replaces Maj. Gen. Jose Maria Cuerpo II who retired last Jan. 17, and will take over the command from Brig. Gen. Consolito Yecla, who has been acting division commander since last week.

He was then sent to Mindanao, serving in various posts in the area of operation of the Eastern Mindanao Command until he was designated as assistant chief of staff for logistics from April 2011 to February 2013, and then as assistant chief of staff for operations, of the Mechanized Infantry Division.

Article continues after this advertisementIn 2015, Anayron was back in Mindanao leading Army troops in international security operations, mainly against communist rebels. He had a brief stint as head of the Security and Escort Battalion of the Army before returning to the 4th Infantry Division as assistant chief of staff for operations.
Article continues after this advertisementAnayron is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992. He completed his Scout Ranger Course and Armor Officer Basic Course with flying colors. In 2013, in Queensland, Australia, he finished the Special Operations Team (SOT) training course and Grade 2 Staff Officer Course.
